Serene's Grade 11 English class celebrated the end of their novel study on The Great Gatsby with a 1920s themed dance. Students enjoyed dressing up to dance The Charleston and sipping mocktails as they celebrated The Jazz Age.

On Mar. 14, high school math students were challenged to create a word-length mnemonic for the first ten digits of pi. The number of letters in each word needed to match the value of each digit, in order.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a youth awards programme originating in the United Kingdom and is now active in 144 nations, recognising adolescents and young adults for completing a series of self-improvement exercises.

Waterloo Math Contest

Students from Leslie's Grade 11 Math class participated in the Hypatia math contest administered by the Center for Education in Mathematics and Computing. The contest challenges students to discover creative approaches to mathematical problem solving and to express their mathematical thinking clearly in English. Eight students were awarded certificates of distinction for scoring in the top 25% of contest participants internationally.
